As a CDTLI member you will receive a free copy of our quarterly newsletter Kapok; be eligible to attend special training courses; have your say in the way CDTLI is operated at meetings; as well as supporting us and our activities. We have a small annual membership fee of $10 (Individual/family) and $50 (Organisation), which contributes directly to on-ground works.
If you would like to become a member please complete the membership form below or download the form here and return to us along with payment.
CDTLI volunteers come from all walks of life and from all age groups. Whether you want to volunteer once a year or once a day, anyone is welcome! You can do as much or as little as little as you like! Being a Landcare volunteer is a great way to make new friends, have fun, get fit, learn about our beautiful natural environment and do your part to help “put the bush back”. Volunteers can participate in tree planting, weed control and management activities, general site care, monitoring activities and office and administrative tasks.
As a CDTLI board or committee member, you will get to meet and work with a positive and enthusiastic group of people passionate about our local environment.
You will have many opportunities to apply your knowledge, experience and ideas, and/or to gain skills and experience in the areas of business required for managing a not-for-profit community organisation.
Generally speaking, positions on the Management Committee are open to all members of CDTLI*.
Elections are held each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) where members of the existing Management Committee resign, and a new committee is elected from a selection of candidates nominated prior to the AGM. The AGM is usually held in October, and nominations must be given to the Secretary at least 14 days before the AGM.
*Details of eligibility and the legal process are given in our constitutional statement “Model rules for Coastal Dry Tropics Landcare Incorporated (CDTLI)”.
For further information on volunteering or joining our Management Committee contact us or come along to a Revegetation Open Day.
